A story that began in London in 1875
When Arthur Lasenby Liberty opened his shop on Regent Street in 1875, he had a clear vision: to bring Asian silks and fabrics to England. His shop quickly became a meeting place for artists of the Arts & Crafts movement, and later for Art Nouveau designers.
Today, the Liberty Fabrics department still prints its designs on the famous Tana Lawn cotton — a fine, soft, and surprisingly durable fabric. Each season, the creative team draws from the company's archives (over 50,000 patterns accumulated over nearly 150 years) to create new prints.
Why we chose Liberty
At Dans le sac, we love beautiful materials and lasting stories. Working with Liberty means combining British expertise with our local production, here in Quebec. Each accessory in the collection is sewn by hand, in our workshop. So even if the fabric comes from far away, the finished product is still made here.
It's also a way to offer something different. Liberty prints are unlike anything else: delicate without being childish, classic without being boring.
